  1. CLOSED - No Household Hazardous Waste Collection on 06/29/19

    June 29, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    06/29/19 - The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center is closed. The next Saturday collection is scheduled for July 6, 2019. The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials. Regular collection events are held the first three Saturdays of the month, April through November 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. No appointment needed on Saturdays! If you can't make it to a Saturday collection, please call 734-222-3810 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment.

  2. Washtenaw County Clean-Up Day

    Dispose of many unwanted household items & chemicals in a safe and sustainable manner. The Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office and Board of Public Works, as well as several community partners, will be sponsoring Environmental Clean-up Days for Washtenaw County residents.     The Board of Health works to identify public health problems and concerns in the community, establish health priorities and advise the Board of Commissioners and Washtenaw County Health Department on issues and possible solutions. Posted in compliance with the Open Meetings Act 267 of 1976. The County of Washtenaw will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting upon 7 days’ notice to the County of Washtenaw.   1. Celebrate Mud Day!

    For kids 5 and up All across the globe people of all ages will be celebrating mud on International Mud Day. What started as a small event for two schools, has turned into a global sensation of fun, laughs, and of course….mud! Join Naturalist Kelsey Dehring as we celebrate this worldwide day, but be warned, you will get messy! Be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty, and bring an extra set to change into after. A washing station will be set up at the end of the program to rinse mud from smiling faces. If your child is participating in Junior Naturalist, they will receive a badge.   3. Celebrating Michigan's Log Cabin Day

    June 30, 2019, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Parker Mill County Park

    Today is Log Cabin Day in Michigan! Children and adults both are invited to visit our 1880’s pioneer log cabin and imagine life in the pioneer days. Enjoy music by The Vintage String band while children do chores - gathering water, washing clothes, and shelling corn to take to the mill. Listen to stories, do crafts, and learn about Michigan Mammals. Also check out the 1870’s grist mill, still partly operational, and learn how the mill used water power to grind wheat and corn. Children are invited to dress up in pioneer clothing for this day!
